Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Karen and I went to one of the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween nights as the King and Queen of Hearts. We had a blast interacting with the characters from Alice in Wonderland especially the Queen of Hearts.
We collected three bags of candy between us. As Karen said, “I’ll start dieting when I get home.”

Knoxville Brewers’ Jam
Karen and I had feared that the weather was going to be freezing, but it turned out great. We hadn’t been in the gate for minute before running into Kris Lutz of Community Shares, which puts on the festival. Community Shares is an outreach organization the east Tennessee area.
We talked to guys from Foothill Brewing of Winston-Salem to congratulate them on their Gold Medal at the recent Great American Beer Festival competition.
Community Shares had arranged for accommodations at the Knoxville Hilton, which were super. We had view of a Tennessee river, access to the concierge room, walking distance to Market Square, and walking distance to the festival.
The music was much better this year, but the band started later and later throughout the day. This caused the last band, “The Everybodyfields”, start around 7:30 PM when the beer tents where told to stop serving.
Speaking of beer tents, we like the new layout of the the food and beer tents. The beer ran out early at many tents just like last year.
Karen and I talked with Matthew Chiaro of the Knoxville News Sentinel. We ended up in his article about the beer festival. You read it here.
Knoxville Brewers' Jam
Well, it is that time again. Karen and I will be heading to the Knoxville Brewers' Jam this weekend. All the money raised helps Community Shares with all of its many great projects.
We hope to see you there.

Huntsville, Alabama ALS Walk Successful
Karen and I set out to raise money for the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) “Walk To D'Feet ALS”. You may know the disease as Lou Gehrig's disease.
We have dear friend with the disease. He was diagnosed with the disease this year, but they believe he has had it for two years.
We managed to raise $1,800 for the flight for a cure. You can donate to the flight here. Please do all you can.
Walk To D'Feet ALS in Huntsville, Alabama
I am walking in this years “Walk To D'Feet ALS” to help raise fund to find a cure for ALS. The walk will take place September 30th, 2006.
I have a dear friend that was diagnosed this year with ALS. ALS was no cure and little to no treatment.
I would love for you to sponse me in this years walk. You can do so here. Just click on the sponsor me graphic.
Counting down the days to Disney World
Karen and I are starting to talk more and more about Disney World. You just know the trip must be around the corner.
We are putting the final touches on our trip.
Karen is looking forward to a break from work.
Great Time at Oktoberfest
Karen and I had great time at this year’s Redstone Arsenal Oktoberfest. Each year we run into so many friends at the festival and this year was no different.
Terry Cavanagh and Alpine Express provided great entertainment. I snapped a good picture of Michael Hoffer playing his trombone in the audience.
Karen and I tried for the first time an Elephant Ear topped with powder sugar and cinnamon. It was good, but I think we will be sticking with Funnel cake.
Monte Sano Art Show
Karen and I headed to the Monte Sano Art Show in Huntsville, Alabama. We have been going to the show for a few years, but this year the show didn’t have the variety of artisans as past years have had. Karen enjoyed the art show, but she missed some of the pottery and other similar items. The show primary had paintings.
The setting is just wonderful in Monte Sano State Park for an art show. As you can see in the photo, Monte Sano State Park is a forest which covers Monte Sano Mountain in Huntsville, Alabama. The weather was great, too.
Panic! At the Disco
You have just got to stop and wonder when you see a band named “Panic! At the Disco”.
Even though their last full album release “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” was out in September of 2005, their hit song “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” is still is getting great air play.
