Finnegan's Pub is the place to be in Huntsville, Alabama. Karen and I will be heading over there today around lunch in order to do things right.
I hope you can join us. If you can't join us, I suggest that you at least stop by some Irish site.
What's happening in my world…

I see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are coming out with a new album, but I had forgotten the great songs they had made in the past.
It is amazing how a little reminder can bring back many things.
On their Fever to Tell album, they have a great tune in the song “Maps“. The sound just runs on forever in your mind after hearing it.
And if it doesn't run on in your mind, their web site may stick in your mind or your nightmares.
I am ordering Apple's new Intel based Mac Mini to integrate with Plextor's ConvertX DVR
. I will be able to record television shows directly to my computer for viewing later on trips or for burn onto DVDs.
But, the Mac Mini's internal hard drive is too small so I going to purchase LaCie's 250 GB Mini External Hard Drive with FireWire Interface which should give me days of recording time. I have learned from experience that bigger is better. I have gone out of town to learn that my current DVR has filled up and is now deleting older recordings. Bummer!
I am going to use Apple's Wireless Keyboard and Wireless Mouse
so that we can work the system from across the room.
Don Alan Hankins of the Olde Towne Brewing Company has donated a keg of their Hefeweizen beer for the Holy Family School Silent Auction.
Don Alan is great guy. He supports the whole Madison county area in any way that he can. He has even let groups use his brewery as a place to host an event. He is one of the nicest people you will meet. And, he brews great beers.
Karen and I will heading to Holy Family School's Silent Auction this weekend. The big event is the draw down for $10,000.
The theme is New York so maybe I can find a tux to wear.
I will be heading to the Fat Tuesday celebration at Humphrey's tonight.
Music for the party will be provide by Bryan Lee. Bryan Lee is a great blues musican.
I was in the mood for food and reading so I picked up “To Catch A Cook
” by Joanne Pence
. Joanne Pence writes a series that has food as a part of the mystery. “To Catch A Cook” is a part of the “Angie Amalfi Mystery” series.
You can even get some of recipes for the food in the books at the writer’s web site.
I was out here to support a missile test. Like most missile or rocket tests, we had delays and delays. The real bummer was that I had to head into work at midnight each night. Yuck! Your body does not like switching its night and days.
It was great having Karen join me out here for a few days. She had a blast shopping. Her favorite buy was a neckless from Everest Tibet Imports in downtown Colorado Springs on Bijou Street.
Saturday night, I ate at The Blue Star in Colorado Springs.
I had the “Whole Trout with blue corn crust, chipotle cheddar grits, grilled chayote fan and red eye sauce”.
Wow!
It was great. And, I had it with Bristol Brewing Company's Beehive which complemented the fish well.
I had thought about dessert, but the service was so slow with the crowd. I gave up. The hostess was servicing my table more the waitress. The waitress was mainly working the larger groups and I was by myself.
My trip to Colorado Springs allowed be to finish reading Dr. Nightingale Enters the Bear Cave
.
It was a good read. Didi’s adventure into the woods leads to murder and mystery.
