Karen, Katie Beth, and I are ready for Walt Disney World.
Our bags are packed and we are ready to go!
We are looking forward to relaxing.
What's happening in my world…
Katie Beth had a blast with her American Heritage Girl camping trip. It was the end of the year family camping trip with many families attending.
Everyone had a blast. We went to the Von Braun Planetarium on Friday night. Saturday, we went on a hike and had a lot of fun. Everyone had a great time playing on Monte Sano State Park
Today, we had a fun time attending Terry and Aaron’s wedding in the Tannehill State Park.
You can see all the photos we took here. Remember, the username and password are “friends” and “photos”.
We made a trip to Chattanooga,Tennessee. It was Katie Beth’s first visit to the Tennessee Aquarium.
Katie Beth enjoyed the day. She thought the paddlefish swimming with their mouths open looked freaky. I will have agree with her.
Katie Beth would like to go back so she can revisit the Creative Discovery Museum, which we visited a few years ago.
I expect we will be going back soon.
Katie Beth and I had a great time trying to fly a kite with the sporadic wind.
The weather was just awesome.
This spring break has so much fun, but pace is a bit much.
The days started out with a trip to Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, Alabama. We scored some books, Easter decorations, and a memory card. It is always a fun visit as you never know what you will find.
After a great lunch on the square at Payne’s Sandwich Shop and Soda Fountain, we headed to DeSoto State Park for some hiking.
We stopped in the Country Store & Information Center to get some hiking ideas and determine camping details for a future trip.
We enjoyed a short 3 mile hike alone the Blue and Orange trails to the Laurel Falls, Indian Falls, and Lost Falls.
You can see more photos of the hike here.
We spent the whole weekend at Hope’s campus, Darlington School. Darlington held their Tiger Fest on campus and took part at the local minor league baseball activities including parading the lower grade on the field.
Hope and I challenged each other to a mechanical bull riding contest. Hope cheated and used two hands, but it was a lot of fun.
Later, Charlie, Hope, and I had a joust, which I rocked!
You can see all of the photos here including my birthday celebration that Hope put on for me.
We fired up the RC Car after Karen got us a new charger and battery. Karen had a blast giving it a snip around the driveway.
Katie Beth was a bit timid driving it around, but Karen had a great time showing her how much fun could be had with the car.
More photos here.
We didn’t take many photos at this year’s carnival. But, a parishioner brought their horse to give rides. Karen had a great time riding.
All the game were a lot of fun.

This morning, we visited Ruby Falls. Other than the water fall, Cathedral Cavern has far better stalactites and stalagmites than Ruby Falls.
Katie Beth enjoyed touching the stalagmites, which you are not allowed to do in Cathedral Cavern.
