I had a great hike today on the Columbine Trail. I started at the Starsmore Discovery Center trailhead and hiked to the Helen Hunts. The around trip was about 6.9 miles.

Hiking North Side of Cheyenne Canyon
Mid Columbine and Helen Hunt Fall Hike
We hiked North Cheyenne Cañon Park area twice today. We first started with the Mid Columbine from the Starsmore Discovery Center. Katie Beth had a blast climbing the rocks and playing at the creek.
Later, we came back to the area and walked the the Helen Hunt Falls trail. The falls don’t look like much due to the lack of water flow.
Hiking and Panning
Hiking Palmer Park’s South Side
We hiked the south side of Palmer Park for the first time today. We got rained on a bit, but it just cooled us down.
We decided we liked this area a lot better than the northern side of the park.

Bear Creek Walk
We had an easy walk in the Bear Creek Park with great weather. The temperatures were in the mid 70’s to low 80’s.
We saw horses in the nearby Penrose Equestrian Park.
We walked the creek edge. Upon our return, we found animal reminds that could have been a deer. We even found a green and yellow with brown spots, which we believe was a Bullsnake. Katie Beth thought all of these things were cool.

Hiking Palmer Park
We had a great time hiking Palmer Park today. The weather was just wonderful. Karen asked me what I wanted to do for Father’s Day. Hiking was the answer.
Afterwards, we had a great late lunch at Il Vicino and headed to Jack Quinn’s for dinner/music.

Rainbow Mountain Hike
We went for a hike this morning before Katie Beth’s last soccer game of the Spring season. The weather was great. We saw a lot of wildlife including a rabbit, chipmunks, squirrels, and birds. Katie Beth took a small tumble and cut her knee, but she went on after a bit a comfort time with Karen.
We ended at the playground were Katie Beth played for bit prior to us head to the soccer game.
