What's happening in my world…
Karen and I have started discussing our plans for a trip to Walt Disney World. Everything is up in the air, but our discussions have started.
Karen is wanting to shift back to our normal vacation time, which is during the International Food and Wine Festival, but we have points that must be used before June 1st. I would like switch, but how is the question.
Also, I think Karen is wanting to start going less often in which case we will have to rethink our point usage.
We started to work on our water heater and it turned into stopping the water damage. We were simply flushing our water heater, then we heard water pouring out of our ceiling behind us.
The faucets were open upstairs to let the water tank drain quicker, but we had left a drain closed in one sink. As we turned on the water to help stir the tank bottom, the water flowed upstairs easier than out the bottom of the tank.
We were filling the sink in the upstairs bath. Then, we started to fill the bathroom floor. Then, we started to fill the master bedroom. Then, we started to fill the hall and next bathroom.
The water got almost every towel wet so we really didn’t have anything to soak up the water. We filled a 30 gallon trash can with wet towels. Some furniture got wet feet, which had to be dried quickly to avoid staining the carpet.
The ceiling damage covers most of our den, which is directly below our master bathroom. We had water coming through from two areas that were about one square foot each, but we have water stains covering about three square feet. The ceiling picture looks like it has shadows, but it is actually covered with wet spots, stains, and sagging ceiling.
We had a great time at Allison and Steve Tofflemire’s New Year’s Eve party. Katie Beth lasted until around 9:30 or so, but she finally went to sleep. The company and food were both great, too.
We watched what is becoming a tradition to see the ESPN motorcycle stunt of jumping something big. This year it was Robbie Maddison jumping on top of a replica of France’s iconic monument, the Arc de Triomphe at the Paris Casino in Las Vegas.
Katie Beth and Little Connell are opening the Christmas gift from her cousin Brooke and Bailey.
Katie Beth tried to help with the yard work. She would move things from one pile to the next and then back again.
Katie Beth’s enjoyed her toys Christmas morning. You can see the tents/maze in this photo.
Even our cat, Carpet, is liking the tents/maze. She has run through it numerous times this morning. The only problem is that it fills our den as you can see.
Karen made a great Christmas meal. We had organic green beans, which were very good. But first we started with a green bean incident. 
I opened some Allen brand Italian green beans only to find the can was empty of green beans and full of water and small pieces of green beans. We had mashed sweet potatoes topped with brown sugar, pecans, and marshmallows.

Father Gary New baptized our Katie Beth today. We followed the baptism with brunch at our house.

We are home still recovering from our sicknesses and trying to catch up on our shopping.
Karen has a new illness which has her in bed. Hopefully, she will start improving soon.
I am shopping with Katie Beth. We are heading home to make lunch and put Katie Beth down for a nap. I picked up some chicken broth for Karen.
Our train is near the outer parts of Memphis. Katie Beth is still sleeping.
